Prius for Gold
The Toyota Prius, which runs on both electric and petrol power has been elected European Car of the year 2005, by 58 motoring journalists, in 23 counrties. It won by a decisive margin over its nearest rival, the Citroen C4. The Prius, a five–door hatchback, gives over 58p.m.g.and relies on zero emission electrical in slow and and stop–start running. The battery is constantly charged by the petrol engine.
